THE NEXT MILESTONE IN
TRANSFORMATIVE CARE AT TADH
The Future We’re Building
The Timmins and District Hospital Foundation has embarked on a comprehensive campaign to raise $30 Million to strengthen the future of care at Timmins and District Hospital. It will fund critical needs in two key pillars – a new Emergency Department and upgrading key pieces of Medical Equipment.
THE NEED FOR CHANGE
For more than 30 years, our Emergency department has been a lifeline for our community. Originally built to support approximately 20,000 visits per year, it now cares for more than 43,000 patients annually.
Help us build it! Our Emergency Department redevelopment needs your help as we raise the community share required to bring it to life. This project will expand and reimagine emergency care delivery at Timmins and District Hospital through a major renovation and new construction.
This $97 million transformation
Will more than double the space to 27,000 sq ft, adding specialized trauma rooms, private treatment areas, and culturally safe spaces—ensuring modern, efficient care for every patient.
A regional
healthcare hub
Timmins and District Hospital serves more than 110,000 residents across the northeast, including remote and fly-in areas of Northern Ontario. This isn’t just a local hospital; it’s a regional health care hub relied on by many.
EQUIPPING THE FUTURE
TADH is the only hospital in our region that offers many necessary medical imaging tests. With rapid advancements in technology, our hospital needs to update equipment hospital wide.
Support this campaign to equip TADH with leading-edge tools for high-quality diagnostic care.
Stronger CAre
Magnetic Resonance
Imaging (MRI)
TADH is the exclusive MRI provider in Northeastern Ontario, delivering essential imaging services for patients across the region. The MRI area was renovated in 2017, and under this project the entire unit will be fully replaced to ensure continued access to advanced, reliable diagnostics.
MRI is a painless, non-invasive technology that uses a powerful magnetic field to produce highly detailed images of the body. It is vital for joint and soft-tissue assessment, cancer detection and staging, neurological imaging, and many complex diagnostic investigations.
DIAGNOSTIC CT
(COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY)
Our current CT scanner has reached the end of manufacturer support, and upgrading it is essential to continue providing fast, accurate, and lifesaving imaging for our region.
A CT scan captures detailed 3D images of the body in seconds, helping diagnose trauma, stroke, cancer, and guiding interventional procedures such as biopsies and tube insertions.
Patients across Northeastern Ontario rely on us when every minute matters.
Nuclear Medicine Suite
The Nuclear Medicine Suite (2 rooms) uses small, safe amounts of radioactive tracers and advanced imaging to show how organs function—helping diagnose and monitor cancer, heart disease, and other serious conditions.
As the only provider of Nuclear Medicine services in northeastern Ontario, this department is essential to the region. Serving a population with some of the province’s poorest cardiac health outcomes, it ensures patients receive timely, accurate diagnoses within their community.
equipment hospital wide
TADH plays a critical role in caring for patients from across the northeast. To meet today’s demands and prepare for tomorrow’s needs, equipment across the hospital must be replaced and upgraded.
Items like a chemistry analyzer in our laboratory, an anesthesia machine for our operating room, beds, stretchers and IV pumps. These essential resources help care teams work efficiently and safely, supporting everything from routine procedures to critical interventions.
